Cantina Frentana
Founded in 1958 as Abruzzo’s first modern winemaking cooperative by pioneer winegrowers led by mayor Francesco D’Agostino, with first harvest in 1960. Made up of 400 winegrowers, mainly small family companies. The distinctive five-story circular tower building (designed 1958) is an architectural landmark resembling the Guggenheim Museum. Major producer of Cococciola, a white grape variety widespread only in the Frentana area. Leadership includes president Carlo Romanelli, sales director Felice di Biase, and enologist Gianni Pasquale. Works closely with Cantina Sangro, with organic wines produced at Sangro’s facility.

Agronomic technical assistance in vineyards; quality project with 60 members working personally with agronomist; 25 hectares of best vineyards farmed organically.
