Cantina Santa Lucia (Azienda Agraria Santa Lucia)
Scotto family winemaking history dates to 1898 when great-grandfather Giuseppe Scotto began working vineyards on Monte Argentario. First vineyard planted 1886 when Giuseppe purchased land in Santa Potenziana and planted Ansonica vines. Company founded 1980 when Luciano Scotto (father of current owners Lorenzo and Luca) brought first harvest to bottle, officially founding Santa Lucia company. Named after great-grandmother Lucia (Santa Lucia – “Saint Lucia”) who supported the family’s viticultural efforts. Fifth generation – brothers Lorenzo and Luca Scotto, with mother Tosca. 2008 – construction began on new cantina; 2010 – significant renovations including state-of-the-art cellar.
