Georges Duboeuf
Founded in 1964 by Georges Duboeuf (1933-2020), nicknamed the “Pope” or “King” of Beaujolais. Family has been producing wine for over 400 years. Georges single-handedly popularized Beaujolais Nouveau as an international phenomenon. Now managed by son Franck Duboeuf, with grandson Aurélien in winemaking role. Established in Romanèche-Thorins in the heart of Moulin-à-Vent appellation. Since 1993, operates Hameau Duboeuf – first wine theme park in Europe and vine/wine museum.
Estates: Négociant business model: supplied by over 300 winemakers. Produces more than 2.5 million cases annually. Exports 75% of production to nearly 120 countries. Specializes in Beaujolais Nouveau and offers all Beaujolais and Mâconnais AOCs. Revealing talent of winegrowers and sublimating great terroirs of the region. Wines easily recognized by distinctive floral ornament labels hand-drawn by Georges.
