Pieropan
Founded in 1880 by Leonildo Pieropan, representing over 140 years of Soave Classico winemaking tradition. Currently managed by 4th generation brothers Andrea (agronomist) and Dario Pieropan (winemaker), sons of legendary Leonildo “Nino” Pieropan who passed away in 2018. Pioneer of Italian white wine production – created the first Italian white single-vineyard wine “Calvarino” in 1971, followed by “La Rocca” in 1978. First winery in Soave to commit to organic farming (2008). Received over 20 Tre Bicchieri awards from Gambero Rosso.
Estates: 75 hectares total: 55 ha in Soave and 20 ha in Valpolicella. 40 hectares in Soave Classico, all prime hillside locations. Produces 750,000-800,000 bottles annually, 65% exported to 70 countries. State-of-the-art underground winery opened in 2019 (dedicated to Leonildo), built into hillside with sustainable design. Certified Organic in the EU. Traditional yet fastidious approach, perfecting process to bring out terroir without adjusting for vintage variation.
