Founded in 1881 when Anton Jermann migrated from Slovenia to Friuli, this iconic producer gained international fame under 5th-generation Silvio Jermann, who since the 1970s transformed the winery into an Italian icon of white wine production. In 1975, Silvio revolutionized the region by creating blends starting with Vintage Tunina from an old field-blend vineyard, when the area focused exclusively on single varietals. In 2016, Silvio was crowned “best representative winemaker of Italian white wines in the world” by Gambero Rosso. The Antinori family acquired majority stake in recent years, with Silvio retaining minority ownership and continuing as winemaker.
