Antinori (Marchesi Antinori)
One of Italy’s oldest and most prestigious wine families, Antinori was founded in 1385 when Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Guild of Winemakers, making it the 10th oldest family-owned company in the world. The family is currently in its 26th generation, led by Marchese Piero Antinori and his three daughters (Albiera, Allegra, and Alessia). Antinori pioneered the “Super-Tuscan” revolution in the 1970s with Tignanello, the first Sangiovese aged in barriques and blended with Cabernet. The Antinori nel Chianti Classico winery was awarded first place in the World’s Best Vineyards in 2022.
