Tormaresca
Founded in 1998 by the Antinori family after Marchese Piero Antinori discovered Puglia’s extraordinary potential while traveling with oenologist Renzo Cotarella. The project aims to promote the rich wine heritage of Puglia’s Mediterranean region while focusing on both native Apulian grape varieties and international varieties adapted to the climate.
Estates: Approximately 640 hectares divided between two estates. Bocca di Lupo in Minervino Murge (130-140 ha at 300m elevation, Castel del Monte DOC) features Aglianico, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fiano, and Nero di Troia. Masseria Maime in Alto Salento (500 ha total, 350 planted) includes a historic 17th-century masseria with varieties including Negroamaro, Primitivo, Sussumaniello, and Chardonnay. Both estates feature architecturally distinctive modern wineries.
Location: Puglia, Southern Italy, between Castel del Monte DOC (north) and Salento (south)
