Tombolini
Founded in 1921 by Sante Tombolini, celebrating 100+ years of winemaking. Now in 4th generation under Carlo and Giovanna (children of Fulvia Tombolini). Founding member of two important DOCs: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Rosso Conero. Among first to use iconic amphora-shaped bottle in 1950s. Giovanni Tombolini (2nd generation) was pioneer in 1970s: first to make 100% Verdicchio in temperature-controlled stainless steel. In 2021, launched new proprietary “Tombolini 100 anni” amphora bottle designed by architect Simonetta Doni. Family history rooted in WWI – founder Sante survived Battle of Caporetto (1917).
Estates: 30 hectares of estate vineyards in Staffolo at 440 meters elevation in historic Verdicchio cultivation area. Calcareous-clay soils with sand and sandstone, alternating with calcium carbonate-rich azure clays from ancient marine origins. Focus exclusively on Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi from estate vineyards. Sustainable and organic farming; tailored approach to each parcel; harmony with environment. Winemaking combines traditional craftsmanship with advanced techniques. 12,000 hectoliter capacity cellar.
